Metso to deliver shredder plant Swiss recycling firm

Finland / Switzerland | Finland-based specialist in recycling equipment Metso, has received an order for a complete customized shredder plant from Karl Kaufmann AG, based in Switzerland. The shredder plant will be delivered during the second half of 2010. The order is included in the Energy and Environmental Technology's Q4 orders received for 2009.

Metso's delivery includes a complete, customized shredder plant for shredding light to medium-heavy mixed scrap, car bodies, new sheet scrap and aluminum scrap. In addition, Metso will deliver a specially designed de-dusting system as well as a state of the art plant control system. The new medium-sized plant will produce up to 90,000 tonnes of ferrous output per year and will contribute to increase the productivity of one of the most efficient sites in Switzerland.

The value of these types of shredder plant orders is usually under EUR 10 million. Metso is the global market leader in metal recycling equipment. About one-third of the world's metal scrap is produced with Metso equipment.

Karl Kaufmann AG was founded in 1860. According to Metso, the company belongs to the most eminent Swiss recycling companies and is specialized in the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, electrical and electronic scrap, paper and cardboard as well as in demolition works.
