by Editorial staff. December 06, 2007
India | Worldwide operating Sims Recycling Solutions is continuing its expansion drive by acquiring Trishyiraya Recycling India Pvt Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The group says that Trishyiraya is a small privately owned recycler of electrical and electronic equipment based in a special economic zone in Chennai, southern India. The take-over is consistent with the Sims’ strategy to grow its recycling solutions division in the Asia Pacific Region. Trishyiraya is a pioneer in establishing an electronic recycling facility in India and is well-placed near a major industrial hub and in close proximity to other major IT centres, according to the originally Australian group

According to CEO of Sims Recycling Solutions Graham Davy, Trishyiraya’s infrastructure in India offers Sims an excellent platform for further growth in an important market. ‘The addition of Trishyiraya enables us to immediately enhance our service offering to our international client base,’ he says. ‘We also look forward to presenting Trishyiraya’s existing domestic clientele our full service menu and the benefit of our technical and process capabilities.’

The company says the management team will include Kumar Radhakrishnan, who had overall responsibility for Sims’ Asian Pacific operations, and Subash Warrier, responsible for commercial affairs.
