Sweden | One of Europe’s leading electronic recycling companies, Stena Metall from Sweden, has acquired a company in Germany. Stena Metall now obtained the stock majority in Bresch Recycling GmbH with its three plants in Germany and claims it became the European leader in WEEE recycling. At the same time, the company entered the Italian market by setting up a sales office in the city of Milan.
Through the acquisition of Bresch Recycling – now called Stena Bresch GmbH- Stena took over the recycling plants in Wangerland, Baumholder and Langhagen as well as the head office in Neumünster. The company has about 90 employees. All plants handle coolings and waste of electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE).
The Milan sales office will offer recycling services and take a leading role in the development of the Italian WEEE market. The Italian WEEE sector is in a developing phase as the Italian WEEE legislation is being implemented. Stena Technoworld Srl was established in Autumn of 2007, and Managing Director, Alexandre Comino, has identified a large market potential by offering competitive and tailor-made solutions to Pan-European electronics producers and retailers on the Italian market.
