Trans-shipment of goods in the Dutch port of Rotterdam totalled 377 million tonnes last year. This equates to growth of 1.7%, which is below the rate recorded by some leading European competitors. However, in the second half of last year, container transport in Rotterdam mounted a 6% recovery, with trans-shipment of containers totalling 9.6 million TEU (20-foot container equivalent units) in 2006.
