* TSR Recycling

TSR Recycling of Bottrop has acquired a fellow German firm, Behrens Rohstoff of Ströbeck. As a result, TSR Recycling has strengthened its presence in the state of Sachsen Anhalt in the east of the country. Harald Nehrens, founder and Director of Behrens Rohstoff, will stay on as a consultant in order to help supervise the transition.

TSR Recycling and its US-based sister The David J. Joseph Company are both – still – part of the Dutch-based SHV Group of companies. TSR Recycling is Germany’s largest recycling enterprise.

* Al-jon

Privately-held Republic Financial Corp. has made an equity investment alongside existing ownership and management in Al-jon, Inc. of Ottumwa, Iowa, USA, a manufacturer of equipment for the solid waste and scrap metal industries. Republic Financial will provide capital as well as operational and financial expertise to support the existing management team in its pursuit of strategic growth initiatives.

‘By combining the strengths and resources of Al-jon with those of Republic, we are able to ensure a very bright future for Al-jon, which translates into an even stronger factory-direct service for our customers,’ comments Kendig Kneen, CEO of Al-jon, Inc.

* Riverside Engineering

US company Riverside Engineering has restructured its operations into two companies.

From its headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, Riverside Engineering will continue to design and produce shredders - such as its M-Series - as well as shredder controls and automation packages. Based in Moline, Illinois, Riverside Products Inc. will meanwhile focus on designing shredder rotors and producing alloy and manganese wear-part castings.

This new corporate structure will enable the two companies to concentrate on their areas of expertise while working together to provide recycling industry solutions, says Riverside.
