The Belgium-based International Iron and Steel Institute has appointed Nobuhiko Takamatsu as General Manager, Technology and Environment. Mr Takamatsu was previously Senior Manager - Technical Administration and Planning for Nippon Steel Corp. of Tokyo, Japan.

Perry Van Rosendale has been named Senior Vice President - Operations and Business Development at Tube City LLC of Glassport, Pennsylvania, U.S. His responsibilities will include ‘bottom-line results for Tube City’s six scrap processing plants in the U.S. as well as new and on-going projects in scrap optimisation, scrap handling and scrap processing’.

A multi-divisional international corporation, Tube City LLC provides raw materials and services to steel mills and foundries in North America and Europe. The company has a brokerage office in London and scrap management operations in Slovakia and Serbia. One of its objectives is further to expand its presence in Europe. Each year, the company processes and outsource-purchases more than 15 million short tons of scrap and generates US$ 600 million in revenue.
