* JMC Recycling Systems

JMC Recycling Systems Ltd of Nottingham, U.K., formed recently by the decision to split J.McIntyre Machinery Ltd into two new companies, has announced the sale of the company’s fourth consignment of equipment to the U.S. since the appointment of its Texas-based agent Strip Tec. The U.S. firm has been selling the McIntyre range of equipment since June 2003.

Shipped in January, the latest dispatch will include 16 metal cleaning shears and three grabs. Since the formation of JMC from the long-established J.McIntyre Machinery Ltd in October last year, sales of metal shears and balers have boomed both in the U.K. and abroad, according to the company. JMC has also taken a number of orders for its Alpack can processing systems and has sold 12 grabs since their re-introduction to the McIntyre product range earlier this year.

Furthermore, J.McIntyre Machinery Ltd has reported increased sales for its Tardis range of aluminium dross pressing and cooling systems. In January, two Tardis systems were dispatched to a Pechiney Group company in the U.S.

* Columbus McKinnon

Columbus McKinnon Corporation (CMC), Sarasota Florida Operations, U.S., has announced the sale of its new passenger tyre shredder to Lakin Tire West, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, California, U.S. This new range of tyre shredders has been designed to convert passenger tyres to specific chip sizes in one process. It utilises a ‘unique’ drive system and 200HP motor to generate the necessary torque, and is said to offer new scrap tyre processing opportunities in a very compact unit.

The unit is the second CMC machine sold to Lakin Tire West and represents the fifth CMC unit sold to Lakin as a whole. The new unit was purchased to increase production capacity of 2 inch tyre chips. It was configured with a narrower knife design, which allows Lakin to regrind and reuse knives from their original CMC machine in the new unit, thereby lowering knife costs.

CMC is one the world’s leading manufacturers of systems specifically designed and manufactured for the reduction of scrap tyres of all sizes. The company’s systems are operating in 12 other countries.
