The Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) has appointed Teresa Presas as its new Director General. She replaces Marie S. Arwidson who, after almost six years in office, is moving back to Sweden to become Director General of the Swedish Forest Industries Federation (SFIF). Ms Presas (51) was born in Portugal and, since 1982, had been Vice-President - European Affairs for Tetra Pak Europe and Africa, as well as Director of Corporate Environmental Affairs. Ms Presas has a degree in psychology and is fluent in Portuguese, French, English, Spanish and Italian.

At its annual member congress, the association of German metal traders VDM elected Hans P. Münster as its Chairman. Mr Münster has been with the association for more than 28 years and is also its Managing Director.
