In co-operation with Resource Recycling, LLC, Texas Shredder Inc. (TSI) of San Antonio, Texas, U.S., has sold the first third-generation Steinert ISS unit to Davis Industries of Lorton, Virginia. The Induction Sorting System (ISS) is designed to recover non-ferrous materials and stainless steel from the eddy-current system waste stream. This is accomplished with specially-designed sensors that recognise the metals and activate air jets to ‘pop’ them from the waste stream. The ISS eliminates the need for manual picking and increases non-ferrous metals recovery.

* Lindemann American Baler

The current year got off to a successful start for Lindemann American Baler of Telford, U.K., with seven orders received in the first quarter alone. The company’s stock-build programme has enabled it to offer quick delivery, which was important to all the customers involved.

Carpa, one of Spain’s largest paper recyclers, has taken delivery of a second Lindemann Bimax 145 paper baling press to be installed at its Madrid plant. This follows the successful installation of a similar machine at its Barcelona plant. Parry & Evans of Welshpool, Powys, U.K., has bought a new Bimax 145 3 x 55 kw paper baling press to replace a Lindemann Bigro 80 which was taken in part exchange and sold to Smurfit Recycling in Glasgow to complement its existing Bigro 100.

Another Bimax 145 3 x 55 kw machine has been ordered by OTC of Lyon, France, and was scheduled for delivery in April. Furthermore, Corrugated Cases has placed an order for an American Baler model 3029-730R horizontal auto-tie baler. Finally, a Ram II machine destined for Bonus Metals of Montreal, Canada, was shipped in early March.

* American Pulverizer

American Pulverizer Company/Hustler Conveyor (APCO) has installed a 60x85 Heavy-Duty Hammermill at J. Trockman & Sons in Evansville, Indiana, U.S. The machine will be used to process cars, appliances and industrial clip at rates of 25-50 tonnes per hour. The deal included a Vibration Isolation Package and a re-designed foundation to accept the new mill.

The company has also received an order for a 2000 HP-6085 Heavy-Duty Hammermill and Material Handling System from Arkansas Aluminum Alloys of Hot Springs for shredding and cleaning all types of aluminium. The machine features a new three-piece replaceable anvil, a fully-capped spider rotor, reject door and several other design features that allow for higher production rates and reduced maintenance costs.
