Geveko steps in glass recycling
by Editorial staff. November 23, 2007
Sweden / UK | In order to help secure its supply of raw material, Swedish company Geveko has acquired 50% of the shares in AllGlass, a manufacturer of glass beads located in Glasgow, Scotland. Through the acquisition, a 50/50 joint venture has been established with current AllGlass owner William Tracey Ltd.

Based in Gothenburg, Geveko claims to be Europe’s largest road marking business and is therefore a large consumer of reflective glass beads designed to improve the visibility of road markings in the dark and on wet roads.

‘The acquisition has two strategic dimensions for Geveko,’ says Hans Ljungkvist Managing Director. ‘We secure the supply of an important raw material. Furthermore we have access to production and the possibility to carry on road marking research activities with a focus on visibility in the dark and on wet surfaces as well as achieving increased lifetime of glass beads which will increase added value on road markings.’
