Akros acquires Henschel Recycling Technik
by Editorial staff. April 01, 2007
Akros, the leading French manufacturer of presses and shears for processing metals and scrap, has acquired Germany’s Henschel Recycling Technik which produces high-quality pre-shredders, shredders, heavy presses and shears. In the wake of the deal, the company has been renamed Akros Henschel.

Based in Chambéry, Akros achieved a turnover of Euro 30 million (US$ 39 million) last year. The company is a subsidiary of Produr which is owned by André Payerne and specialises in materials and anti-abrasion solutions.

The acquisition of Henschel Recycling Technik enables Akros to widen its product range and international network. The firm enjoys a strong presence in Russia where it has just signed a contract for the delivery of four shears to scrap company Severstal.
