RotorCut for processing packaging
by Editorial staff. March 03, 2008
New Product | Strautmann has introduced the RotorCut for use in the recycling of packaging.

Bundled materials are put into the machine either manually or, in the case of larger quantities, by using a fork-lift. A slow-running crimper opens up the commodity and, through exerting pressure, empties it. During processing of, for example, filled PET bottles, cans and other soft packaging materials, liquids are collected separately. The packaging is then conveyed along a gutter to compactors, briquetting presses or containers.

Requiring minimal human involvement, the system is easy to transport through use of a hand lift and can be integrated into existing compaction concepts. According to the manufacturer, throughputs of up to 12 000 bundles per hour can be achieved.
