New Product | The US Shredder and Castings Group has designed and supplies the heaviest batch feeder for the scrap and shredder industry, the company from Brookhaven Mississippi claims. The batch feeder was originally designed for a recent installation that processes mined auto shred fluff, however; there are many applications for the feeder in the scrap industry.
According to US Shredder President Bill Tigner, ‘The durability and design of the feeder literally makes it unparalleled in similar equipment that is supplied to the scrap industry.’ The Mega-Batch Feeder is designed to accept full loads of material loaded directly from a dump truck. Eight feet wide and is built from twenty feet and longer lengths, it has a 48 cubic yard hopper. Feed rates are can be adjusted from 5 ft/min to 150 ft/min. The batch feeder uses a proprietary sealed belt capable of handling shred, ASR, and waste products. It uses a “kick back” drum for proper metering of material. The feeder comes equipped with motor, power pack and electrical controls.
