Czech Republic | Having already sold more than 130 container shears, Czech manufacturer ZDAS is building on this success by introducing a mobile scrap shear with a shearing force of 700 tons. Hailed as an affordable alternative to classic guillotine shears, the CNS 700 SM is claimed to offer users a high level of availability with a continual processing performance of up to 20 tons of steel scrap per hour.
The CNS 700 SM functions in the same way as the company’s container shear, with a blade carriage which moves horizontally. The whole structure has been reinforced accordingly and a 168 kW water-cooled Perkins turbo-diesel engine supplies the shear with the necessary power through Bosch-Rexroth hydraulic pumps. Its LOGIK control system uses Siemens controls and allows rapid differential operation of the hydraulic cylinders, thus leading to a higher throughput rate.
To ensure proper distribution of the increased force, the machine’s cast parts have been reinforced and the fitting surfaces have undergone extensive mechanical treatment.
The CNS 700 SM and the smaller container shear can be loaded continually and the scrap requires no compacting prior to cutting.
